GRAMMAR: Also / As well / Too
These adverbs mean ‘in addition‘ but have different positions in a sentence
Also – used with the verb or adjective
He also has other games that he plays at the weekend.
Too – usually goes at the end of the sentence or clause
He is rich and generous too.
As well – usually goes at the end of the sentence or clause
She has a PC and an iMac as well.
FUNCTIONAL LANGUAGE – Permission
- Permit (most formal) – Smoking is not permitted.
- Allow (formal) – you are allowed to make personal calls.
- Let (informal) – let me help you.
- Can (informal) – you can sit here, if you want.
