GRAMMAR: Past Simple
Past Simple describes action that has finished in the past time.
Verbs in the Past Simple positive can be regular (ending in -ed) or irregular.
Examples of Regular verbs
To work: I worked a lot last year.
To want: We wanted to meet Manolo.
To decide: He decided to buy the shoes.
To finish: The contract finished in August.
Examples of Irregular verbs
To make: I made a mistake in the report.
To have: We had a meeting yesterday.
To go: They went to the shop at 2pm.
To give: He gave me a pair of shoes.
EXPRESSIONS – Dimensions
Height – high / low
The shoes are high, the price is low.
Length – long / short
The presentation is long, the film is short.
Depth – deep / shallow
The ocean is deep, the river is shallow.
