Better than – used to compare ability or quality – positive. 
Simon is better than John at presentations.
The Best – used when we want to say this is the highest.  
GE is the best company in America.

Worse than – used to compare ability or quality – negative  
Hotpoint is worse than GE.
The Worst – used when we want to say this is the lowest.  
Los Angeles is the worst city for traffic.

EXPRESSIONS – Employment

To hire – employ somebody.
GE hired me in 2019. 

To fire – to terminate somebody’s employment.
He was a bad worker so GE fired him.

Winner – person who wins a competition.
He sells the most and is a winner.

Loser – person who loses a competition.
He never completes his tasks. He’s a loser.
